Prostrate Enlargement

Prostate enlargement, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a common condition in aging men where the prostate gland enlarges. This enlargement can cause compression of the urethra, leading to urinary symptoms such as frequent or urgent need to urinate, difficulty starting urination, weak urine stream, or incomplete emptying of the bladder. While not cancerous, BPH can impact quality of life. Treatment options range from watchful waiting with regular monitoring to medications that relax the prostate and improve urine flow. In more severe cases, minimally invasive procedures or surgery may be recommended to reduce prostate size and alleviate symptoms.
